I have a small wood insert in an old stone fireplace. I typically brush it out once a year but I plan on using it quite a bit more frequently now that my kids are getting older. I'm burning bone-dry, standing dead western larch and Douglas-fir. How frequently do you guys brush?

twice a year, before we use it and when we are finished with the chmney, and if you use it all winter then you need to clean it every 30 days.
