Control the perception of opinions and you control opinions. Left wing bullshit was blasted on the internet, there was no escaping the FACT that their narrative was crumbling. So they brute forced the narrative. Just like there was no stopping the fact that trump was going to win the election, so they brute forced it.
They are getting clumsy, arrogant and blunt with their actions now, they are acting like they have already won, like a villian monologuing and bragging about their plans, and we are so far behind on the ball that we are trying to fight back on plans that have already been resolved without being prepared for the next few actions.

It won't work soon. (((They))) are removing the API function that these extensions use to display it again. Without the API, these extensions will no longer be able to obtain that information so they will become useless. This was part of the announcement for removing the dislike count.
The dislike counter was disabled because of 0biden's videos getting slammed with downvotes ('most popular President in history!'). But you can install an extension that lets you see the dislikes again ('return YouTube dislike').
