Here is the shit advice I found online

https://ibb.co/72VDGqk

What I did... I found top 50 list for books all time in different genre... non fiction science fiction, novels, horror classics and some other top books of all time list.

I cross referenced them and made my own top 10 list books that made it on multiple list and high up I added up on a point system.

I don't have my top 10 but I think catch 22... 1984 don Quixote was on it.

Anyways the advice in the image is for modern day morons

If you want my advice, I'd say follow your instincts. If a book interests you, start reading it. If you don't enjoy what you are reading, stop. If you enjoy the book, take note of the author's name and try other books by the same author. Seasoned readers go by authors, not by book topics. For example, you don't just read For Whom the Bell Tolls, you read Hemingway. If your into science fiction, you don't just read Starship Troopers, you read Heinlein. Every now and then, expand your horizons by reading a famous classic. Apply the same procedure -- start it, and if it bores you, stop; if you enjoy it, keep going. It ain't rocket science, gents ... unless, of course, you are reading about rocket science.

I am stubborn and when I start a book I finish it... usually.. war and peace and Don quixtie have both had me stop half way though.

So I kinda disagree there. But if you like a book I have found I read the authors other books Philip k dick was one I'm very glad I did that
