It's something like that, I think it might be a quote by Callicles or something about how it is important for one to exercise both their mind and body, especially for leadership.

>Read these books by Mark Lawrence, Prince of Fools, and/or Octavia E. Butler, Parable of the Talents. A quote very spot on is in one of those. Best of luck researching for the exact quote. “Only the coward says, time and tide wait for none, the valiant lives and works to build new time and to cause new tide.” ― Abhijit Naskar, Earthquakin' Egalitarian: I Die Everyday So Your Children Can Live

Interesting reads, I'll have to see if the library has them.

Thucydides says something similar regarding societies that separate their scholars and warriors will have their wars fought by morons, and their thinking done by cowards.

Socrates said: "No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.” which applies here as well.

Thucydides has some interesting quotes. I particularly like:

The secret of happiness is freedom and the secret of freedom is courage.

I also know that quote by Socrates, it's one of my favourites for training.

This is now my favorite.Thank you!

Can't help you but it sounds roman/Greek in terms of the way you wrote it. Sometimes I feel compelled to assume a leadership position because submitting to the alternative is worse.

Yeah, I just wish I could remember the exact quote and who wrote it.
