They integrated East Germany so they could experience the benefits of capitalism. They didn't need to continue suffering to prove an ideological point. History and their own memories can do that well enough.
So instead of 50% of Germany destroyed we get 100% great
East Germany pretty much adopted the ways of West Germany. If you don't like how Germany is today, that's not due to communism. Germany like all of Western Europe chose to be comfortable as a reaction to the horrors of two world wars and a looming third. Having two Germanies wouldn't change that.
The ways of West Germany? You mean forced immigration and White guilt?
Maybe... or maybe one of them would have saw the horrors and stopped the immigration shit.. but unified they all got fucked...
