Because you like music and rap is generally tribal dance drums masked to sound more modern. The words usually detract from the beat, and music if present.

Hmmm...actually, I think this is the real reason I don't like Hip Hop. Some tribal beats are enjoyable but the angry, broken English, half-yelling-half-talking, rapping kind of ruins it.
