A while back, Voat users provided a series of Windows install files and programs to remove all of the telemetry and related services from Windows 7. This suite was called Aegis.

Non-enterprise Windows 10 is blatant spyware. Has there been any attempt to create an Aegis for 10? Or is the software that deep in globohomo cuckery that there's no point to it?

When my Windows 7 machine inevitably dies, it would be nice to not have to learn Linux. But if there's no other choice, oh well, I'll man up.

Ubuntu or Linux MInt would probably be a better first distro. Manjaro is great, but requires a little more tinkering.

Start with mint and then move to something that does not use systemd.

SystemD complaints are a neckbeard cope. All the distros that use init are a PITA. It makes setting up services on Linux a lot easier.

That says unsupported version on recent windows 10. Have you tried it?

No, I haven't run Windows as my main for over 2 years. You can always try decrappifier on GitHub.
