There is limited archeological research in that area but the Adrar Plateau where the Richoet circles appear has had a literal fuckton of soil research done over several decades by multinational mining operations looking for Diamond Kimberlites and other rare earth minerals to mine in that Precambrian metamorphic strata. I know this for a FACT because I did some of that work myself.
