no, its more like whenever some retard is doing terribly in a thread they get more and more likely to call their opponent nazis or "literally hitler" as the post count rises, at which point the entire forum recognises that the retard has lost that debate and it dies, usually after a round of mocking.

that just doesnt happen anymore. i literally just had this weird desire to go sir the hornets nest on reddit, and after a thread where i got tones of downvotes but lasted much longer before getting banned from that subreddit than usual the guy finally decided to unleash the n-word, i remembered this godwins law and though hey thats weird how that doesnt happen anymore and replied that he invoked godwins law and that from now on im treating this thread as the joke it is. the guy sputtered like a beaten dog for a couple of posts and only then i was banned.

that doesnt mean that the n-word suddenly stopped being a thought terminating cliche and if they were to do nothing else of value then the conservative types shouldve kept the tradition going.
