Verizon informed me I need a new phone by January 1 that is 4G compatible. Will my phone truly not work after that? If I cave, what's the best bang-for-the-buck? Are there any snoop-proof phones (that don't cost over a thousand $$)?

Forgive the ignorance, but i thought tor was suppose to be the "go to" for privacy?

never trust anything nor do anything that would cause the popo to look for you. Tor is "private forward" but even it can be infiltrated.

Tor encapsulates some of the data that your device is sending and receiving but your device still exists naked on your providers network and can be accessed directly outside of Tor. The feds both monitor and create vulnerabilities that they cultivate to use when they want access to a system.
