I want to make a simple belt out of 2 layers of 1.5" webbing sewn together. All buckle hardware seems like it has issues, but I have these connectors on my fall safety crap, and think they are pretty fool proof (few points of failure, just a bit of a pain to get them on).

Without knowing what they are called apparently they don't exist. I am looking for them in 1.5" (40mm, 38mm) but it seems like only "45mm webbing buckle" is searchable.

Just borrow a cutting torch and make a set.

I have access to a metal shop, but seems like a $2 piece of stamped metal should exist. I might just go for one of the other solutions, it is just frustrating that I can't find it. I swear that some belts back in the day used this system.

In a world where nobody knows how to do anything without a degree in the field or a certification it is important to know how to do everything without either.

i mean that i would have to draw out something for the waterjet or torch, and it seems like an awful lot of work for something so simple. I might just use a scroll saw to do it if i took this route, it doesn't have to be perfect.

It does appear that there is a market for these, so maybe a production run would be worth it for somewhere that has a retail presence.
