50,000 with evidence. Longer than that relies on bones and not DNA from what I've gathered. Homo sapiens (and homo sapien sapiens which is sometimes used for modern humans) date back a bit over a million years. The Shoningen Spears date to around 450,000 years old. Human history is way more complex than what textbooks would have you believe. The lascaux cave paintings are 40,000 years old. there are caves with paintings and evidence of that and fires* dating back 120,000 years.
I'm asking because searching the web doesn't bring up the best results. I've found great articles and papers about early humans but cant seem to find them again.
