What's up with this rhetorical technique? Allow me to paraphrase a conversation or two:

I do not like Amazon's Wheel of Time. They have changed the story from the books. They have changed the story from the books that make no sense. They have changed the story nonsensically in an attempt to subvert Western civilization.

I get: "I was with you up until 'Western Civilization'. What is this Jordan Peterson crap?" BANNED

(Non-pornographic) Books should not be banned from libraries. The problem is not children who read too may books. The problem is the books woke teachers force them to read, alongside the teaching of woke nonsense. It would be better if the state didn't teach at all.

I get: "I was with you up until no public schools. Why do you hate children and learning?"

It's the same line of logic, you dummy. I just drew a different conclusion than maybe you did. The intermediate steps are exercises for the reader. Feel free to share your differing conclusion instead of getting butthurt and attacking me.

But anyways, how can a thought go "too far?" Is it necessary to shut off one's brain (or at least the mouth) once one reaches an unpopular conclusion?

One thing I've learned is that I'm not a trained psychologist so I leave the crazy people alone.

Dont try to figure crazy people out, their crazy.Yuri Bezmenov spoke of these people.

On another note, some things come down to perspectives and finding a common ground to work from helps. Set definition of words... most npc's know it all types dont want real intellectual conversations that search for truths. They want emotional gratification. I'm right, you wrong (insert and hominem). Finding true impartial truth seekers is like winning one of those stuffed toys out of the 25cent crane machine, hardly ever happens.

Imo The department of education should be dissolved. I dont think there is a provision in the constitution for it. It is too big and fukt up. Local Trade schools, home schools, militia summer schools like Switzerland er somthin... are needed. Revive ol Americana.

Well, what I'd like someone to say is something like

Perhaps if you and your neighbors shared common values, state education would be beneficial. Some sort of government is necessary as a safety net since not every child has wise parents, and children shouldn't be denied an education because their parents are irresponsible.

Is it a non-starter to think of a society without public education? (I have to admit a lot of the places without it are shitholes.) Could it be made to work?

The department of education as we know it was created on October 17, 1979. It's very easy to think of our society without it.

For sure, the Feds can go. I am wondering if it can all be private, or community, schools. I realize the line between community and government gets blurred on a small enough scale, which is a good thing.

Back in the 'Little House On The Prairie' days, the one room schoolhouse was the precursor to public education....but back then it was more fashioned on a collectivist or co-op model. Parents collectively paid the teachers salary, could hire or fire her at will, had control over the curriculum, etc. Somewhere along the way education got derailed, then subverted by commies. It's time to either fix the public education system or replace it. Frankly I foresee no way to wrest control from the leftists, nor undo the extensive damage they have caused. That leaves either private schools, homeschooling or a return to the co-op model.

I think you could combine charitable, private, and community schools with a state subsidies and compulsory education to give a chance to the children of deadbeats. Sort of like vouchers but no "public option". Allow anything but the monolith.

On a state or local level prolly work better. Currently Our entire system seems corrupted and degenerate. Imo Major power changes need to happen to make any public service workable.
