There is 3 tiers to the device, from what I can tell. The cheap one is dry fire only, the expensive one does archery and shotguns also, the middle one I was looking at is for handguns and rifles, both live and dry fire. It specifically says that one works with airsoft. Plus with airsoft, you don't have to keep racking the slide apparently.

I remember seeing versions for the AR & Glock that would do trigger resets so you weren't constantly racking the slide/charging handle.
