But right now I think most people of all colors just prefer the easy status quo. Normies just want things to be normal no matter what ethnicity they are.

The elites seem desperate for a war, any war, though. A domestic Civil War, a war with Russia, a war with China.
I think a currency crisis is approaching and they'd prefer to have war time powers when it does.
So maybe the elites will foment a war soon and it could look like that. But they might also just start a war over Taiwan instead.
