In the past 5 years i've gotten up to speed on what's really going on in the world including the money making machine that is big pharma.

in fact, due to depression, i had been on anti depressants for 6 years because at the time i didn't know any better and didn't think about side effects.

now i have come off them and wonder if they have done lasting damage as i have developed consistent migraines and bad anxiety and sometimes panic attacks.

i have been to my gp for these issues several times this year and their response has been a combination of take these random pills and/or to just suck it up, it can't be that bad.

recently i was changed to a pill that has possible side effects of seizures and i have seen numerous people online complain about how horrible it is and i haven't taken any of them.

i just wanted to ask if anyone has any perspective on migraines, is there any alternative to the pill pushing dead eyed doctors? i don't want to put any more big pharma gunk into my body but i'm having a pretty shit time. maybe i should wait it out for half a year and see if my body heals itself?

ps. i have not and will not be taking the clot shot.

thanks for reading. all perspectives welcome.

I don't have any advice on meds.

Do you use alcohol? Alcohol creates anxiety in its absence - and it is powerful. The effects are more pronounced over time. Don't use alcohol.

Exercise.

Solid advice about exercise and limit alcohol. I take Excedrin for migraines. Only thing that seems to help. Stress is actually what triggers mine. Go figure. But Excedrin has aspirin, acetaminophen, and caffeine. Aspirin comes from birch trees, caffeine is pretty chill and pregnant women can have acetaminophen.... Can't be that toxic. Sure I would rather take nothing but sometimes you need it just to get through the day. Good luck

Long term anti depressant or basically any psychoactive substance leads to massive mineral depletion and liver Kidney issues. Clean up your diet as others have said. Lots of greens, lots of broth and organ meats. find a functional medicine doctor. Do that for about 1 year. After that you can get into multi day fasting. Good luck.

What's your diet like? How much water are you drinking? Are you reading enough poetry?

99% of headaches are due to dehydration.

poetry

I like the one about the disgruntled Anglo Saxon.

i assume you have tried CBT and meditation for the bad anxiety? panic attacks are quick so may not help as much but could help some.

I don't have advice on what medicines to take, though someone below suggested tylenol and ibuprofen together. I've heard that can give you ulcers so I might do some more research on that before going that route if I were you.

But what is your diet like? Diet has a large effect on health. If you eat a high or even moderate carbohydrate diet, I'd suggest getting rid of the carbs altogether and stick with a high-fat, moderate-protein diet for a month or two and see if that affects how you feel. I always experience an improved mood and energy level when I don't cheat and just eat beef once a day. Which reminds me -- combine it with intermittent fasting too and see how that goes.

A lot of people experience relief of arthritic pains and other chronic health issues when they switch to a zero-carb, meat-based diet. Dr. Shawn Baker on Youtube has talked about it a lot in the past, though recently he has focused more on the Covid scam, obviously.

I hope that helps.

You have a mineral deficiency. Look into high dose niacin as a natural anti depressant.

NIACIN.

If you are a vet or on disability the company I buy CBD from offers substantial discounts. CBD works for most people, but not all. I have arthritis and I haven’t taken OTC pain meds for a few years. Lazarus Naturals

Research the drugs yourself, no one else will. Some drugs do take a long time to get over after stopping.... I'd rather have a panic attack or a migraine than seizures. The over the counter stuff with caffeine works well for most people's migraines.

I have migraines and take tylenol and ibuprofen together (just buy a bottle of each). Friend of mine is a new migrainer (just hit 40) and he uses marijuana edibles with great success. Consider edibles- find a dispensary and experiment with kinds and doses. You may find it works for you.

is it the THC or CBD that helps the migraines? pot can be illegal in a lot of places but CBD is cleaner since it produces no high and just medical effects

My friend uses low dose thc edibles (he's disabled and can't afford cbd!). Some of the stuff he uses does/have different effects; some make you sleep some don't, some help with pain or anxiety- some others do not. Whatever kind helped my friend a lot with chronic severe pain too, so I'd recommend giving it a shot if you live somewhere that has a legal dispensary.

CBD saved me from being bedridden from seizures. Even traveling to a neighboring state is worth it.
