getting harder to find. Try a cheap flip phone but be prepared to have a copy of the koran installed on it...like alcatel phone.
Alcatel is very likely to have backdoors.
Almost impossible. I considered making a company completely around old phone functions. Specifically call, text and email. Can't download apps.
I figured if I want this others will as well.
XDA is great. I say go with google free lineage OS. Still technically a smartphone but without any apps its pretty bare bones.
I wanted to do this with an old Nokia, but alas the cell towers no longer support the protocol.
I gave it a go with a Blu dumbphone. It is difficult to work with text and would recommend a keyboard, which basically means smartphone.
Experiment #2 in progress is a mobian pine phone, and I have not used that in anger yet.
