I'm not asking if you work out, I'm asking if you actually spend your hard-earned money to borrow some companies weights. Do you spend money to go wear a muzzle, & follow some arbitrary rules of some establishment to keep in shape? What do you spend? Can you get out of it, if you want, or is there a ridiculous cancellation fee? I bet there is.

You don't need a gym, man.

Absolutely correct. Paying gym fees is asinine. I remember a guy who passed BUDS after being at sea on a destroyer for six months, and the only space he could find to train in on the whole damned ship was a small compartment the size of a walk-in closet. No weights. Just cals. Dude was up to 500 pushups and 500 hindu squats by the time he got back.

500 pushups?... What does that mean? All at once or something? If so, that's unbelievably impressive.

The most pushups that I could ever do in one continuous set was 220, back when I was a young Ranger in my 20's. There were other guys that I knew in the bat that could do more.

You set a high goal, based on your fitness level, and don't stop training until you hit that number. You can rest, but you can't stop. For instance, you set a goal of 200 pullups. Then you do as many per set as you can until you hit that goal. If you can do ten per set, then do ten. If you can only do three, then do three. The point is maintaining a steady rate of progress towards the overall goal, so that when it's achieved, you know that you've done something.

Throw your clock out the window. This takes as long as it takes. If it takes you two hours, then it takes two hours. If it takes you six, then it takes six. Achieving the goal is the point. Next time it will be faster.

Alright, fucko. If you're not ripped, shut the fuck up. If you are, tell us your routine.

I do pseudo planche pushups and diamond pushups in varying sets and reps, along with regular pushups throughout the week. I do either forty or eighty squats per day and I also walk 2 miles five days a week at 4% incline (while listening to audio books). I want to add things like dips, pull/chin ups and different variations sometime soon. Maybe four months or so.

Thanks for the info, man. Keep up the good work.

Yes. No one wears a mask. I'm not sure what rules you'd be talking about. It's around 20 dollars a month. (Although I am looking for a different gym cuz this one kind of sucks). I don't think there's a cancellation fee, but I pay a quarter (year) at a time, so I could lose some time, as it were, if I quit suddenly

I paid 18 months up front to avoid monthly charges and potential fees. They no have my cc number.

It's a great place to meet dudes bro!

Yes I don’t have 50k for all the cool toys they do. No I live in a red state $34 a month Yes been a member for 10 years and only signed a 1 year contract.

I have access to one for free right now. My list gym was expensive but worth it. I've had a couple of run ins over masking at the gym. I wear it sometimes. Also you can get masks that are basically pantyhose thin that you can breath easy even though I know that's not the point and principle matters.

The expensive gym didn't have any kind of cancelation fee, all I had to do was say I was done.

Doing manual labor counts?

I used to work at office but it's soul crushing glad I left there not that long ago

Free weights, barbells, and squat rack, anything else is a gimmick.

Cross fit is for faggots that like destroying their elbow and knee joints. Seriously, ask any serious cross fitter that's been doing over a year, I guarantee they have some sort of joint issue.

This. I don't know about the crossfit homos, since I don't have to go anywhere to encounter them, but over 20 years ago I invested in free weights, barbells, squat bar, a bench, and squat rack. Best $1100 I ever spent in my life, and since my gym membership was about $90 for my wife and I, it paid for itself really in the first year. I get that a lot of people can't make that investment all at once, and that things are way overpriced now, but I found the whole gym experience really sucked. At home, I'm not wiping some mystery spooge off of the surfaces, I'm not listening to a bunch of broads gossiping, no idiots just sitting on the equipment talking about whatever the latest bullshit in their lives. I get in, work out, get on with my day, six days a week.

Renovating a house I bought recently. Gym room is almost ready. I'll be able to dig the equipment out of my garage.
