That's because in any creative endeavour, the only ones who become "famous" are those who are easily manipulated, and who cater to the lowest common denominator. Notice that any artwork, music or similar that has actual worth, is beautiful or similar, gets perhaps a few comments on it, while utter trash is pushed to the top of the pile and glorified?

There was a meme going around a while back that went something like this "Imagine your Instagram account gets deleted and BOOM suddenly you're not a model anymore." The blame is on the media for hosting trash and peddling it like its Gospel.

I recall that back in the 80’s there was a show called That’s Incredible. They featured an American kid that made a million dollars by his 14th birthday. He made his fortune in the stock market, then real estate, and some other business he started. Back then, a 14 year old getting rich was incredible.
These young influencers now do this regularly, but their only product is themselves, marketed to bored idiots, paid by advertisers.
I looked up that kid from the 80’s not long ago. He’s been to prison a few times for fraud.
