I was talking to someone yesterday from church. They had mentioned that because I have a wicked sinful heart, that any and all external acts of benevolence to others was for nothing, and that I was still a terrible person at heart. The idea is that I am over compensating for being a terrible person by appearing to be nice. Essentially, his argument was that even though I had to be nice to him, I should never assume that the generosity will be recognized or awarded. This made me think, clearly me helping others is falling on deaf ears, which then makes me think why should I bother?

good works won't save you. You must be born again for God to accept your good works.

And this right here is why organised religion is a crock of shit. Who the fuck cares if you pray to an inanimate being if the good deeds are exactly the same?

Yeah, depravity of man is a hated doctrine. But because we hate it doesn't make it untrue. And organized religion is not the same as Christianity.

Considering that gods do not exist, I'd say it does. If they existed you wouldn't have fuckwits running the show right now.

You know that's not true.
