Let the insulting voices of strangers from the internet drown them out

purpose.

find something you enjoy. become good at it. become proud of it. stay focused on being productive using that as an outlet if you ever begin to doubt yourself.

remember: being happy is always the best form of revenge.

I had similar when I was younger. They wouldn't insult me but would go off on most random shit. Almost like somebody very weird was narrating my life. Sometimes very humorously. Shit I initially dismissed as my own thoughts once, but later wasn't quite sure because the humor was not even close to being mine.

I'm surprised to read the suggestions to immediately go to a doctor. I thought it was pretty common knowledge around here that psychotropic meds and similar can be fairly dangerous in of themselves. Doctors rarely know what they're doing and often fuck up dosage or aren't willing to see warning signs to try something else.. also those types of meds, if you need to change something up, need to be weened off; never quit cold turkey, and you can't miss a dosage or miss your refill without them causing other problems. In short: western medicine doesn't have a great record but its probably worth a shot to talk to a doctor if other plans don't work. Don't be afraid to shop doctors around. You might even get lucky and find a doctor that has had the same thing you do. Sometimes these drugs literally cause the problem you are describing. So of you are already on SSRIs or AZTs or whatever then consider that.

I have heard of great success stories too with meds but if you go that route might seek out the advice of your friends and family who you trust to tell you if you are behaving weird. I don't know why but so many people I know who take that stuff don't recognize that it often makes them dysfunctional.. I have a family menver who has become irratic, manic, forgetful, and kind of all over the place, slurring their words precisely because of these meds. and I ask them how they're feeling and I ask them if they think their medicine has changed anything about them and they are totally clueless and don't have any self awareness about it. Its truly amazing how people are unable to self-diagnose under these meds. So you'll want to have somebody you can confidently trust to tell you.

I personally would try what Aethelwulf and slowcrash101 suggested first. It sounds cheesy but get white bread and processed shit out of your diet, and work out. No processed sugars. Basically don't eat anything out of the cabinet, ever, except nuts, seeds, or nut butters. Throw the rest of the shit in your cabinet away and never buy it again.. Eat out of the refrigerator. Go for jogs or nature hikes or whatever you are into. I've seen autistic kids who walk around on their tippy ties literally change their life around by changing their diet and exercising to where they don't even walk weird any more, they totally normalize, and the results were immediate.

Last thing. Don't play with ouija boards. Don't allow spirits or whatever talk to you. If you've ever dabbled with otherworldly stuff, then change your mind about it. Look within yourself, meditate, or look to God for conversation. No need to allow other quack spirits into your life. I could write a masters thesis on the dozens of people I've followed who talk to spirits thinking they have something to offer. These spirits never do. Its always bullshit in every situation. But they can't fuck with you unless you invite them. I don't know why but permission is needed from you. So feel free to change your mind if you've ever dabbled with that shit. Talk to yourself instead. Or talk to friends. Or talk to God is my advice.

This is the best answer. I was wondering why no one was calling out the therapist crowd

Quit being such a faggot and hit the gym. Those insulting voices are there for a reason. Also quit drugs and alcohol, eat healthier, etc. You can't have a healthy mind without a healthy body.

Dude, you're just a cunt. An ignorant cunt.

[–] 3 pts

Nah. Can't have a healthy mind without a healthy body. That's just sage advice. Poals mean 'Faggot' in a mostly welcoming / comradare way. Hazing never hurt anyone except if you never grew up with it you become soft and later get hurt by internet comments. Sometimes the truth needs to be said plainly with tough love. This is something your older brother might say, if you had one. Basically - 'ok, you're done complaining, now go fix it. Rub some dirt on it.' Maybe he's a cunt but a cunt with a point

Sorry to break it to you like this, but you're retarded

Hey look, our Jewish faggot mascot showed up to show everyone his boypussy. Where's Kyle when you need him?

Learn skills, become self confident, then you have physical proof the voices don't know wtf they talking about. Once the 5,000,000 watt light of truth shines on bullshit talkers at point blank, they STFU. Because they burned to death.

Try this. You have to realize that the voices you hear in your head are not your own. Let them come and go and do not hold on to them.

Therapy is what I reccomend. There isn't an easy solution.

[–] 1 pt

From a psychiatrist, not a psychologist or therapist. Psychiatrists have to complete medical school. Psychologists and therapists are just liberal arts majors.

[–] 1 pt

This.

Therapy, they will refer you for a psych eval incase you need medication. Then you continue therapy because dealing with what’s going on (be it bipolar disorder, Schizoaffective disorder, or something in those realms) can be challenging.

I hear medication is all the rage in these instances. Either that or you forgot to take your earbuds out.

[–] 2 pts

Is there a way to do it without medication ?

Are you for real?

Okay I Will Take That As A No.

I think John Nash might have been the only person who ever managed that. I have worked with many people with schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder over the years and the one thing I know is that the voices are liars. Never once have they told the truth, even when they are telling someone what they want to hear. Get a psychiatric eval as soon as you can. The quicker you accept there is a problem the better you will be able to have a productive life. I have seen the people who can't accept they have a mental illness and, my God, have they done some stupid things. You don't want to end up in a residential facility and/or with a legal guardian. Don't go to a teaching hospital or clinic unless you absolutely have to, they change your Dr. every couple months and just when you are doing well some douchebag resident comes in and changes stuff around so they can pretend like they did something. In the meantime while you wait for your appointment, headphones with loud music might help a little to drown the voices out. Won't help your hearing much though and it is only a coping mechanism, not a solution. I hope this helps and good luck.

Natural chemistry, quite literally, you are what you eat.

Eat right, know the chemistry in your food and drinks.

Supplement with vitamins, minerals, and enzymes.

It sounds hard, but it's not, once you learn what is going on with the food and water.

Your natural state is to be healthy and happy, generally, all the time.

With a healthy state of mind.

That happens automatically once you purge all of the crap out of your system, and give your body the right chemistry.

Think of it as putting the right gasoline in your car.

What happens to your car with the wrong gasoline?

At a minimum it gets very cranky.

Also, get some more exercise.

Exercise is a weapon that improves your body, improves your chemistry, and improves your life.

Yes it's hard, but becoming good at doing hard things reinforces your own self worth in an undeniable way.

Dedicate yourself to anything for 60 months and you should become pretty good at it.

60 months is about the same as a master's degree in university.

you need to meditate. meditation will clear your head and make you conscious about your thoughts. you have a mental tic. just like someone with a physical tic, you do something you dont intend to and arent conscious about it to stop it. look into meditation and then be conscious of your thoughts for a bit, and it will stop. also stop being such a giant loser will help.

Only a professional will be able to tell you that. Your family doctor can point you in the right direction, you'll be assessed to see what is wrong by a general therapist. Everyone hears voices in their head to some degree, so don't worry

[–] 1 pt

Go to your doctor. Tell him you want to try something else ahead of drugs. He'll ask you questions about what is happening, what is the cause etc etc. He'll point you in the direction of the right type of action. You can try techniques like CBT(https://www.healthline.com/health/cbt-techniques) ( Cognitive-behavioral therapy, not cock and ball torture!) yourself.

But one thing is certain, do something about it, don't sit back waiting for someone else to. Confronting that something is wrong is brilliant, lots of people are afraid of making that step. So just take the next step, talk to you doctor. Good luck dude, rooting for you here

Dopamine.

The insulting voices come back when I don't have enough dopamine in my day-to-day.

Our modern life robs of of dopamine by providing cheap substitute activities that don't provide dopamine.

You need dopamine.

How to get dopamine in a few ways:

  • Exercise. (This is #1 ... go for a run, go workout.)
  • Spending time with those you love. (Win or lose, I love watching my kids play sports ... they enjoy it and I enjoy watching them enjoy it.)
  • Helping someone beyond yourself. (Go help an elderly neighbor for 2 hrs this Saturday ... it will make your day.)
  • Solving a problem. Our brains are meant for creativity and for challenges.
  • Sex with someone you love. (Not masturbation ... sex ... not the same.)
  • Sunshine (if you live in the North ... if you are in the sunbelt, then more sun isn't value added.)
  • Nature (if you are in a city and can't enjoy the peace of being in nature every day. ... if you are already on a farm, there is little more to be gained by going for a nature walk.)

Things that prevent you from gaining dopamine, mostly because these activities temporarily distract you but don't provide a dopamine boost.

  • Drinking / weed
  • Sugar. The modern American diet it making us sad.
  • Information. We have the world's information at our fingertips. This isn't helping make us happy, just distracting us.
  • Porn ('they' want to make sex = masturbation. That's far from the truth.)
  • Video games. (For me, that's a solo activity that I enjoy but recognize that the voices come back right after ... not left "feeling good" after 3 hrs of playing a game.)
