So you agree that it makes sense for them to see the need to make it even more obvious then that to avoid rioting?
The point he seems to try to make is it doesn't matter if Kyle was 1,000,000% justified, the jury can still convict. This isn't about right and wrong, it hardly ever is anymore. If the jurors lean left politically, Kyle is doomed... because the people of the United States are at cold war with each other, and this is left vs right politics; not right vs wrong. Even the judge knows this and has stated as such (but without the cold war part, I added that).
I got the simple point he was trying to make.
I was discussing motivations and he was blindly focused on an assumed outcome. It was a derail and not very constructive imo. It's useful if you can puzzle out why people are doing things because then you can influence those around you.
Not very useful to just sit around and complain that the deck is stacked against you. It makes you feel powerless and takes away your will to do anything about it.
