My Grandfather. After his time in the military he came back and was an NYPD beat cop, worked up to detective, retired and started his own home improvement business with family. He and his only wife, my Grandma, had 5 kids, 3 of which each had 5 kids.
He was always fair, strict, calm, respectful, confident, smart, funny...he was the model of a man I needed in my life. I miss the guy, he really was the shit. I can only imagine how he'd feel about the world as it is right now.
Not really.. Damn I didn't realize how far I've come by myself. My father is nothing like me.
I think the main thing of importance, regarding role models, is to not fall into the trap of agreeing with them on 100% of things. If you find you never disagree with your role model, you're probably doing it wrong.
