Have you ever had a role model to show you the way?

For me it was Ray Bradbury. Very intelligent man. Married a great woman, never divorced. Dedicated his life to science fiction. He wrote many intelligent books that helped people think and advanced science. Lived until 91 years old.

I think his life can be described as meaningful and satisfying.

Every single person I meet is a role model. Most I want desperately not to assume that role.

If you can't learn from a good example, at least be sure you learn from the bad ones.

My Grandfather. After his time in the military he came back and was an NYPD beat cop, worked up to detective, retired and started his own home improvement business with family. He and his only wife, my Grandma, had 5 kids, 3 of which each had 5 kids.

He was always fair, strict, calm, respectful, confident, smart, funny...he was the model of a man I needed in my life. I miss the guy, he really was the shit. I can only imagine how he'd feel about the world as it is right now.

Not really.. Damn I didn't realize how far I've come by myself. My father is nothing like me.

I think the main thing of importance, regarding role models, is to not fall into the trap of agreeing with them on 100% of things. If you find you never disagree with your role model, you're probably doing it wrong.
