Alcohol is bad. Mmkay. That being said, the best gins, for the price, I've had are from the New Alchemy distillery. Bombay Sapphire is kind of the standard for "smooth" gin, so you generally are looking for something of a similar proof that is even more smooth/less harsh. That is the yardstick with which to measure. Let us know how it works out, if you manage to get some.
