english is not latin based and translates pharmakeia differently. if you go from koine greek to latin to english it becomes the basis for pharmacy/pharmaceutical. if you go from koine greek through the germanic languages and then english it becomes the basis for magic/sorcery and alchemy. the fact that we inherited words from all of those languages and use them for very specific things sometimes. but very broad things others, is evolution of language and what makes english a pain in the ass for non speakers but its kind of important at times because it means that the bible in our modern language can be read and interpreted in a bunch of ways that are all completely valid and sticking with any one of those ends up in fist fights. EG - If we use english tightly and literally, we do not go to a pharmacy to ask an alchemist to perform sorcery. BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT.... when we are being clever with our words and not being literal... yeah those words can fit in just the same way a nerd can work their computer magic for something.
