Keeping the teeth set (lightly seated but not clenched hard) is a fundamental instruction for Tai Chi, which is ultimately a fighting system. Outside of combat, relaxing your jaw as much as you can is the first step in deeply relaxing the entire muscular system.
...relaxing your jaw as much as you can is the first step in deeply relaxing the entire muscular system.
I can see that as a relaxation method. But even while I'm sitting here at the desk, my teeth are lightly 'interlocked' (teeth aren't flat surfaces, there's grooves that mesh together). When I'm at the gym I notice My jaws are tight when I'm at the end reps of a set and exerting near max effort.
How does one deeply relax their jaw? Do you have an exercise routine?
