What does the solar run? Amperage?
It runs about ~90% of the electric needs for the house, shop, barn for normal usage.
I say I'm only 75% off grid because I still source propane, diesel, and some electricity from off property.
In theory, we can go off grid ~2 months (depending on the time of year, etc.), but we are far from being energy independent.
In some scenarios, this limitation was likely fatal. But in 'real life' those scenarios are not real ... so I'm not spending money on exotic things like wood gasifier, bio-diesel algae, or massive battery banks, etc.
Thanks for the reply. We're propane /electric now, but I want to add a woodburner to the house. No worries for firewood.
