Including meth, crack, heroin etc? Should people be personally responsible for what they put into their bodies and be free to choose or should the government tell us what we can and can't do? On one hand, most people can't handle the above drugs, but on the oyjet people know the dangers and can take the responsibility themselves. What do you think?

If they made recreational drugs legal, I imagine they'd need to be regulated like alcohol, tobacco, and now weed. So licensing, regulation, and taxes should apply.

Absolutely. Solves problems for every side. As well as instituting purity laws. Then having an OD is like driinking oneself to death. I'm no fan of taxes, but I'd rather my money go to the state than some criminals, and I'd rather have pure drugs than fentsnyl laced bullshit.

Criminals will continue to sell, slightly below market for taxed weed, and will keep the money coming their way. Taxation is an excuse for government control.

The only real value of weed was the illegality. Its so easy to grow that its shamefully how much the dispensaries charge. The current prices at dispensaries are what allows people to continue selling illegally. If the government wants to continue selling at prohibition prices, there's gonna be prohibition competition.

Indeed, though I think I'd try to find a way to keep the pharmas out of it. Some rule about medicine vs. recreation. That's why I was entirely against using medical reasons for legalizing weed.

Already with regulated and taxed weed you see unlicensed, illegal grow operations to avoid taxes. The drug warriors just turn into revenue agents and the war continues against citizens doing as they choose.
