I really like the idea of dragons breath rounds sprinkled in with slugs on an semi-auto shotgun for someone coming to force you at your home. Probably wearing body armor... Break bones, set them on fire. Let God judge them in the after life, no quarter on earth.

There is no universal answer to this. It would depend on your door, how heavily armored and how many authorities their are, your children and safety situation, and if you live in an urban or rural environment, do you mind being deaf afterward? What is your approach to the situation? do you intend to live through the encounter or is this a good day to die type situation? only you can know or answer this question for yourself.
I don't plan on living through the encounter, but I wanted to hear the suggestions from the people who do.
