They have been used in Asia (mainly for website and social media links) for over a decade.
I like when idiots in PR try to be "cool" and put up posters with QR codes. Since they aren't human-readable nobody will be able to see right away if the code is correct. Print out some appropriately-sized QR codes for goatse or lemonparty and place them over the codes on stupid shit your company or school posts on bulletin boards. Hilarity always ensues.
The hero we need.
I've been thinking bout this, but wasn't sure if it would actually work as I don't use the things.
Is goatse really gonna popup on every NPC that just scans these thing?
In my area they use them for the covid sign in on some construction sites, and I've been wanting them to be redirected.

Yup
Better yet, set up a URL tracker and make your QR code point to that so you can track how many times it happens.
Wtf is a qr code?
Quick Response code. They encode a text string; usually a URL but it can be anything. You can generate your own QR code easily if you search the 'net for sites that generate them like https://qrcode.tec-it.com/en
HTH
Bonus points for printing out your own qr code and putting it overtop official shit.
I can think of plenty of websites that would qualify
Scan them with your :cuecat
A new barcode is the best explanation. But much easier to scan for computers since it can be done with a camera lens. It can hold or link to any type of data. I know that some researchers have stored code inside QR codes that would send commands to the device that scanned it such as opening calculator app.
They've been around for over a decade...mostly online.
It's just an advanced replacement for barcodes, can contain a lot more data than a typical numeric barcode.
KILL YOURSELF.
I use them on my paper resume for external links. One to download a PDF of my resume for instance.
They are really cool, if you hold hold your nose just under them and refocus your eyes to a distance it makes a really cool 3D effect. The big ones on signs are the best!
Basically a computer 'language' that looks like a QR code.
It's the upgraded Hansel and Gretel for the New Age people.
They're little children playing tag - only not realizing they're tagging themselves.
