It will be real real when the shrouds are around the blades and the flight time is 3 hours.

When they are ready to do it for real it will have a 50hp micro turbine in it spinning a generator and run on kerosene.

Why is everyone so excited about this? 30 minute flight time.

I want the aluminum block gas powered version. I want to land at a 7-11 and pay for 3 gallons of gasoline, tip my hat, blow a kiss to the nigger behind the counter and fly away.

Lol. Imagination is under rated these days.

Hey. It's only 2021. Who knows what great inventions lie before us in the coming decades? We are fully diversified now. Mixed. Maybe some African scientist or Hondurian genius can calculate zero point energy.

Wouldn't that be grand?

Amen. The batteries that allow these personal VTOLs to fly for 20 minutes probably weigh as much, if not more, than a 4 cylinder engine plus gasoline that would be capable of hours of flight time. I suspect it's all about the "Green Energy" bullshit why they are all electric.

I'm with you. Flying for 30 minutes would be boring. That's only 30 miles range. I'd rather walk.

So, until they solve the, "if you lose a rotor, you die" problem, this isn't much of a good thing.

Safety features: Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP), provides safety through redundancy for its passengers and/or cargo. DEP means having multiple propellers and motors on the aircraft so if one or more motors or propellers fail, the other working motors and propellers can safely land the aircraft. Complete propulsion redundancy, triple redundant flight computer, ballistic parachute, safety cell chassis, crumble zones, lidar aided obstacle and terrain avoidance, hands free hover and emergency hold functions, propeller guards, composite seat with harness

this will drop out of the sky with 1 failed motor.. thats complete BULLSHIT safety

It's probably loud as fuck.

20 mins flight time.

Hahahahaha

Even under these rules, it's kind of cool. If I had a homestead, this could be a hell of a way to ride the fences. Can't use it in "congested areas" meaning quick grocery trips are out of the question. No class D airspace means you are likely limited to 2500 ft, but then, why would you want to be higher in this?
