The Drinker has been tentatively splooging over the film for some time now, so when it gets released and it's mostly the opposite of a total shitshow it makes perfect sense that he'd continue to sing its praises. I didn't see the negative comments that you mention but there was nothing in his review that hinted to me that he's sucking cock for likes now. I mean I didn't agree with everything he said, but he wasn't being a shill.
Leading up to the film I also thought the casting of Paul's character was questionable, but he totally pulls it off IMO. And as someone else -- perhaps the Drinker -- pointed out Paul is not physically very big or strong in the book. But he's not a pushover either which, as I say, I think Chalamet conveys well.
On that note I'm waiting for someone to upload a clip of the duel he has with the Fremen but with the combat music from Star Trek TOS dubed over top.
There were many comments criticizing his review. Interesting none are to be found now. Hmm.
My comment wasn't based on this single review. It's a pattern of his continued support for obviously woke bullshit.
"It's a pattern of his continued support for obviously woke bullshit." This is interesting because I haven't noticed it at all, but TBH I haven't been paying as close attention to his reviews recently because they're starting to sound pretty much the same.
Can you name a review that you feel is a particularly good example of him supporting wokeness? Thanks.
Look at that cartoon he reviewed.
