If you look at the source material (the comic), Invincible's girlfriend is a blonde white girl. They changed that into some kind of simp relationship with a feminist black female. Don't know if his best friend is a homosexual in the comics as well, but those are just some examples of how the show pushes feminism, interracial relationships and homosexuality in a rather overt manner. More covert subversive themes are the whole 'ubermensch' ideals of the villain, his father, who's white. However, I believe that's the same as in the comics. Apart from the agenda pushing, I gotta agree it was enjoyable to watch. The pacing, animation, story and music are all excellent. I enjoyed it despite the agenda pushing until I found out the source material.
