Since my dad died I dream of him various ages all the time. we've been in crazy situations in my dreams. Also two times in my life I had to explain to dead friends how they died
I used to do a bit of lucid dreaming and saw lots of crazy shit. I had one recurring dream of having philosophical conversations with an old man. After talking to him a bunch of times, I realized it was me.
Ultimately I do nothing but lucid dreaming, but I don't try to manipulate it anymore. If something particular crazy is happening, or abnormal, I'll say "wow this is crazy for a dream". Or if it's particularly boring, I'll say well f it I'll wake up. Sometimes I'll go all out "It's a dream, fuck it". I have grabbed people in the dream and tried to freak out on them telling them "YOU'RE IN A DREAM! I LIVE AT .... MY NUMBER IS ... CALL ME!" but I get booted out of the dream every single time I try it. It just goes blank and I wake up.
You should ask the people in your dreams if they are alive. The answers may surprise you
When you realize how great your brain is at lying to yourself it is scary, and then you think about all the people out there living complete in delusions.
Really ?
My best friend David came to me in my sleep a few years after he died. Extremely vividly I told him that there was no place for him here anymore and it was time for him to go. The intense feeling that he no longer fit in and sadness as he walked away remains to this day.
Dear David I pray you are well and happy in your next life.
In the dream i am aware that they have died, so in the dream i enjoy the time i am with them. Sometimes the dreams are not joyful, but then i am aware i will wake up as this is still in the dream.
Here's another angle: "proxy" dreams, when i dream i am entirely someone else and get to experience that life in the dream. Have been a number of different people, cultures.
I used to be obsessed with dream work. Now i leave well enough alone. Even the more unusual dreams, it's like, ok and move on. It's plenty to deal with waking life. Heh.
Bonus: When you first awaken, do pay attention, for at times the issue on your mind, or some aspect of your life will be given its answer. The very first phrase you "hear" or impression that you have can bring healing and resolution.
I also dream of being other people. I've never heard anyone else talk about this. Why do you think this happens?
It's probably your brain's way of trying to rationalise you thinking with another mindset than what you'd normally think.
My take on it is that it helps me to understand and better communicate with people. I tend to geehaw with various cultures, everyone does not have to be like me to be my friend, or at least an acquaintance.
As for others and as to the rarity, i do not know. I do believe that it is not common.
Yeah I had a couple of these with my dad after he passed on.
The first one was short and it was just the family together - we didn't always get along that well over the years. Our family wasn't always exactly functional.
The last one was incredibly funny and I woke up laughing my ass off:)
You see, I don't think he ever really believed in life after death, and he was clearly ecstatic to find out it was real after all.
That's what he was really saying. I got that message loud and clear. The joy. And it was hilarious.
I have no doubt it was him, not a dream, but he was communicating through the medium of a waking dream.
I have had a lot of relatives die over the years, but none of them ever came in a dream like this, just him.
Not only that there are strong feelings in dreams that absolutely come through when seeing these 'dead' people or those no longer accessible on your waking reality.
I've just started dreaming again after a year or so of dark shallow sleep. I didn't realize how much I missed dreaming. I'm able to see people I've missed, and some I haven't.
So , does your comment infer that dreaming of and conversing in said dream , you believe you are communicating with the dead? Or that it freaks you out?
If you're trying to act like people on here are stupid, you're gonna get a kike flair. No one does that except kikes. Your only other comment on this post is acting like someone else was stupid too. You're amazing and smart. everyone else is a fag. Viva la israel.
I've never really had dreams of people that passed. It may be because I don't really attach significance to death beyond that person is no longer here.
I understand people die, and yeah. That's the way it works.

low iq people just don't dream as vividly. high iq people dream about everything and remember it with clarity. your reasoning is so weak. high iqs like me dream about everything... from some random girl i haven't seen since grade 7 to my mother who passed 11 yrs ago to pikachu to white jesus fighting a nigger jesus in a battle across the stars that ends when i look in my toilet bowl and realise i helped white jesus poo out the nigger.
I'm sure you're one such high IQ person.
I attribute it more to I don't think people are worth the time to commit to memory. My pet dog from 1978? She's there a lot. You'll never be there.

I don't have people that have passed, but I've got people from childhood and / or people that are equivalent of dead to me. Even though they still exist, who they were is non existent and never could exist again, they are effectively someone who also knows who I used to know. I consider the old person dead and the continuation.. someone else. I've seen them in dreams, it's disturbing they're still young, and I've missed so much of who they could have been. Dialogs aren't normally too much, because it's painful (the idea I'm talking to someone so far in past).
That is amazing!! I don't recall many of my dreams, but lately I am recalling a lot of dreams about family that are still alive!! Weird, all of a sudden!! I think I would love to dream about my Mom and Dad!! I sure miss them a lot and could use their advise sometimes!!
