Am I the only one? They wonder why I haven't been to church. Well, get the government out of the church and I'll come back. In the meantime, I'm all paid up with my tithing. I've been paying my 10 percent gross earnings out of each paycheck every since this insanity has started. But if I could bypass the Church and pay the money directly to God, I would.

After mulling it over for quite some time, and continuing to do so, I've come up with several possibilities.

The prophet is fallible I am fallible The church and/or God doesn't want to rock the boat Every time God rebuilds his church, it inevitably drifts away

______________________________________________________

1) The prophet and quorum members are only men, and thus fallible. Even though they're the highest living person in the church (not including Jesus/God obviously), they're not excluded from making mistakes. This is especially true if you apply the "everybody's doing it." If the whole world (or at least Western culture) is lied to, then it's not a far drop for them do make mistakes as well.

1.1) This theory is backed up when you think about old prophets such as Noah. They're included in the scriptures for a reason.

1.2) Something I've come up with years ago is that the prophet isn't (necessarily) the most religious person currently on earth, nor necessarily the most in tune with God. That person is likely some random old man sitting in a family ward somewhere. Instead, the current prophet is just the person best suited for the job at the moment, and has yet to finish his job on Earth.

1.3) Nelson was a surgeon, and thus will most likely take the most caution option, as well as listen to the medical society.

2) I'm just a man and I'm fallible. As much as I believe I'm right, I must accept that I could be the one that is wrong, or partially wrong. One of the hardest hitting numbers I have is the USAF deaths. Up until a couple months ago, it was just one death (Active, Guard, or Reserve). In the past couple months, we've bumped those numbers up to four. Even with these numbers, even with all the evidence I've seen, even with all the death/lack of deaths, I must still accept that I might be wrong, or at least to some degree.

2.1) Maybe masks do help a very small amount. Maybe there is some small benefit that might save a couple hundred lives. Maybe society did go overboard, but perhaps they do help a very small degree among the old and sick. Just think how many old people there are in church.

2.2) It's entirely possible that I'm overreacting with the negative effects. Maybe deaths are only in a very small percentage, and lives saved will eventually outnumber deaths after several years. Maybe all those short clips are overblown because of the internet, or the person recording lied about the reason. Maybe somewhere with my incomplete data, I've miscalculated.

2.3) It's possible my mistrust in government has blinded me, or partially blinded me.

3) Covid is fake and gay, but it's in the interest of the church not to rock the boat. If the church rocks the boat, then people would be less likely to join or even listen. Thus, less people would find God, or at least find their way to the true church. Now we know that doctrine can't change, but new doctrine can be reviled. We also know that procedural things can change, for example three hour church being knocked down to two hours +one hour home/family study.

Being that wearing a mask isn't doctrine, and is only a request, it's entirely possible for the church to go along for the ride, unlike gay marriage where they have to make a stand. When you add in asking people to get the vax, things get a little more complicated.

______________________________________________________

4) It's entirely possible that the church has started to drift away from God, as it has done numerous times throughout history. Also, just because it's started to drift away doesn't mean God won't pull it back in. Also, also, just because it has started to drift away doesn't make the entire church, it's power structure, it's doctrine, and it's written text false, especially when you consider what they're asking for (masks/vax) is not doctrine.

______________________________________________________

To sum it up, the prophet isn't perfect, I'm not perfect, the church is subject the the conditions of man, past churches have all fallen before, God can always reel them back in, what they're requesting isn't doctrine, maybe they don't want to rock the boat.

Oh yeah. Things will always get worse. Even if they get better, they will get worse. Conversely, things will always get better. Even if they get worse, they will always get better. This entire Earth is one large roller coaster, and some people are only around for the ups, and some people are only around for the downs. And it will remain a roller coaster until the second coming of Christ.

Talk about a write-up. Sorry for the wall of text but I hope it helps to see some of what's going on in my head. And I haven't even touched a 1/4 of my thoughts.
