I've had them tell me to my face that they enjoy hiding their facial expressions and they're self conscious about their own teeth/faces. They also have bad breath and enjoy other bad-breathed people wearing them. On Reddit they're convinced that it "helps" their social anxiety, when it's really enabling them.
