I just personally find it distracts from the page, it's too eye-catching imo. Especially given that I'm not concerned about HTTPS enforcement unless I'm dealing with personal information, I already use a VPN.

It's not a big deal either way, but an opt-out user setting would be a nice QoL option for myself and anyone who thinks like I do (if any).

that or maybe we can use CSS to change the color so it doesn't stand out so much. I like both ideas. I'll get with when he gets back.

IMHO removing it will prevent users from knowing which links are not encrypted.

Changing its color to something like grey could do the trick.
