That hasn't been historically true. Do you have any concept of how many times this cycle has repeated since we first became an agrarian species 5,000-13,000 years ago?!?!
definitely the bathtub hootch, as getting drunk is the entire point of alcohol and buying brand name shit instead of four times that volume of stinky petes whoohoo juice for the same price is painting a moneybag on your back.
OMG lol, can you imagine saying "nuh-uh, I think people would be more likely to recognize the Sizzler(r) franchise name than some no name "organic, local farm-to-table steak house name"
Not really. No one will give a shit about luxury goods in an apocalyptic scenario. The average cheap ass whisky will go way up in value. Luxury whisky will go down. Just about everyone but the elite would much rather have 10 $10 bottles whisky than 1 $100 bottle of whisky. So your best bet it to buy the cheapest whisky you can find, since it will still be worlds better than the average moonshine people are making
I know plenty of people who make their own booze (not whisky though) and consume it religiously claiming it was home made, so it's better and even healthy. Anyway, I think their brain has been affected with obvious signs of senility of parkinson.
I brew my own beer, and would compare it better than any microbrewery around. The sugars are what make it unhealthy, so I brew all my beers so they are very dry. I never brew to style any more since the sugar is too much for me in many styles.
