They couldn't pay their bill and i was talking with my father about just paying their bill for the next payment cycle of 3 months. It could help them out and also keep the neighborhood looking clean. We wouldn't ask them but just do it, then put a note in the mailbox stating anonymously what we did. Is this a retarded idea or an ok idea?

I've done similar things before. It's a neighborly move. The "social safety net" is kiked when it's implemented from the top down but neighbors helping neighbors in need is based af.

I guess it depends on why they can't pay the bill too.

We get county dump passes when we pay our property taxes. It's included automatically. We take it ourselves although there is service for a fee for pickup by private company. It's been nice since we've been doing a lot of remodeling and projects. They take almost anything and some hazard labeled material by appointment.

In the states I've lived in I've paid the city monthly water/sewer/garbage. Obviously no water/sewer now out in unincorporatedville, but still monthly for the county sanitation pickup.

Not in a small town. Mine isn't large either. Barely twice the size of my parent's and their town is under 1k. But I asked them and apparently they pay a garbage fee too because their town doesn't have it's own setup with taxes. So very small towns it seems to be the case where they don't have it in taxes.

I had a neighbor with a pile of branches and plants the size of an SUV in front of his house for a month. Waste Management wouldnt touch it. He then crammed it into the large plastic bins which sat at the foot of his drive for 2 weeks. He FINALLY bagged the shit up and they took it!

Different trash company. If i wheel over there bin It wouldn't be taken. I'm not gonna go into their trash bin and remove their garbage because that's just disgusting.

Round here there is one garbage/recycling company paid for by the town's taxes. I wonder which way is cheaper? Do you pay by the weight amount too?

Does everyone have different garbage days per company?

Something so simple as garbage collection seems like a headache there. That sucks.

white as snow. There's just mental illness in the family. The mom died like 3 years ago and one of the kids went home again to take care of her sick brother. The one that's there now used to be strikingly beautiful when she was in her twenties. But now she's in her mid forties and completely insane. and looks like a redneck from appalachia.
