This is actually false. Sandman was unfortunate to hire Lin Wood as his attorney. According to Robert Barnes, the world renowned lawyer, Lin Wood is a scam artist and has never had the kind of trial experience necessary to win the trials he has recently managed to get as clients.
For example, Lin Wood was the initial lawyer for Kyle Rittenhouse. Lin Wood crowd sourced 2.5 million on behalf of Kyle Rittenhouse to fight the trial. The problem was two fold:
Lin Wood had ZERO criminal law experience. I literally mean zero. He was like a small family law buisness law kind of alwyer all of a sudden jumping into a criminal law case in which has has zero experience. Kyle Rittenhouse ended up in JAIL because Lin Wood FAILED TO EVEN POST BAIL for the kid. Lin Wood actually DID NOT POST BAIL FOR KYLE. HE LET KYLE ROT IN JAIL and because Lin Wood failed to act during the first part of the trial he missed some procedures (basic procedures a basi law student knows to follow) that created a situation that once Kyle was in jail you couldn't get him out of jail until a bunch of things happened.
Lin Wood stole the crowd sourced money. Eventually Robert Barnes became part of Kyles legal team ousted Lin Wood and put in place a proper legal team that got Kyle out of jail and is winning the case so far. They are actually crushing the case honestly. Anyway, Robert Barnes said on a podcast that Lin Wood has not returned any of the money and no one knows where it went. Translation, Lin Wood stole the money.
So, now that you know that, you need to know that someone like Lin Wood could not negotiate their way out of a paper bag on behalf of Nick Sandmann. The way those cases works is like this: All big media companies not only have AMAZING lawyers on staff reviewing all stories for risk mitigation, they have huge insurance liability coverage for just those kinds of liability claims. Those lawsuits may be filed against the media firm, but the media firm never pays those, they only pay the insurance premiums. Instead, the insurance company is the one that pays and insurnace companies are not only way way way bigger than the media firms, their lawyers are way way way meaner than the lawyers of the media firms. There are videos online of insurance company executives explaining that they are not in the insurance business, they are in the lawsuit business. In other words, they are not in the business of insuring people and then just handing over money for claims, they are in the business of not paying out and fight tooth and nail in courts to not pay because they know that most people will buckle and not able to finance a full scale lawsuit.
The word on the street is that Nick got something but not big bucks. You guys keepon reading bullshit like Nick sues CNN for 250 million. That is meaningless giberrish and it impresses you guys because you don't know how any of this works. You can sue anyone for almost any amount of money, the laws kind of encourage it in an adversarial law system. Instead of reading Nick sued CNN for 250 million you should read it as Nicks opening negotiation position with CNNs insurance company was 250 million. The expect payout, even in the best of circumstance (and the actual liability for slander is not as dangerous to CNN as most people think) is miniscule.
The word on the street is that he maybe got a couple of million at best but there are rumours that he got sub 1 million because Lin Wood is a parasite that should be disbarred.
His college might be paid fur but I would be surprised if would have enough for a down payment on a nice house beyond that.
