Probably a caveman thing, it springs everybody into action, the men react, the women take up the cry, the children cower and hide behind mommy, the threat is somewhat startled. This probably went on for thousands of years before it became pointless today. Pure speculation on my part, just thinking out loud…

Exactly! The men are so tired from eliminating the threat, they don’t turn to kill the screaming bitches, because well, they probably stopped screaming by then, lol.
My personal theory with the screaming thing is that it came about becauze women weren’t the hunters. Men were out getting food living in the action. You scream at something it’s becauze you’re not used to the sudden adrenaline dump or whatever you call it when something crazy happens in front of you
