Not really keen on paying off the national debt, considering how much money the government wastes. Looking at South America Costa Rica and Uruguay seem nice but consideration is always shit might go down since South and Central America are CIA and etc stomping grounds. Thailand seems nice but would only want to go if there is a big expat community because the language is so different. No real idea about other areas.

If you are single and don't need to work, Thailand and SEA is good as big expat and tourist community and your money goes far. If you need to work that's different. Central America is pretty shit bar Panama. Haven't been myself, just what I heard. I've be to most countries in south America, Uruguay and Chile would be the best overall imho. Obviously big countries have nice places. You really need Spanish too, lots of people have zero English. Lot of Israeli in SEA letting loose after conscription and they're genuinely the worst cunts you'll ever meet, locals hate them too

Ok so Panama and Chile are worth looking at too. I'm not worried about Spanish, it's close enough that I can figure it out. Plus as a standard issue American I took it for a couple of years in high school.

Chile is very westernised and modern compared to other south American countries. Difference is very noticeable when you get here. Uruguay has great people from my experience, but was only there about 2 weeks. Brazil had good people as well but toi many poor people that wouldn't think twice about cutting off your hand to steal your watch.

Yeah, I've seen too much liveleak to want to move to Brazil.
