You must not have had very high hopes for technological advancement if it has already come true or is close to being so. There are so many more things we can expect from technological advancement, but it seems like greed has overtaken innovation and wonder to put the world on hold for money. I don't give shit about mobile phones as computing platforms or cryptocurrency, but that is what is driving a lot of today's so called "innovations". I'd rather we put a lot more effort into superconductors, materials sciences, space exploration and non-game/entertainment driven computing advances. We've gone stagnant because people don't care about advancing since they would rather be entertained.

We have direct brain interfaces., 3d metal and plastic printers can make anything, computers can do everything including understanding language, we can clone humans just like cows sheep and horses buts its illegal, spacex is going to get the super cheap rocket thing done, there is internet around world with starlink, solar panels are so cheap that free energy is now real, you can speak to anyone in any language around the world on your smartphone, all the world's knowledge is at your finger tip. We have flying surf boards and jetpacks that are so good they can fly you to 30,000 ft at 100 mph. That's basically being superman now.

We have virtual reality goggles with higher resolution than the human eye and you can step into Microsoft flight simulator and experience a tired level accurate virtual earth based on live satellite data.

Oh yeah and sex dolls so real you can't tell them from people in lots of photos. And soon they will be animated and connected to ai minds giving you full size humanoids.

Most future things that haven't happened are in health but thats because giant monopolies actively prevent them. In fact most restrictions on tech now are legal and not scientifically limited.

What more can you want in tech? Its almost all done.

I think the thing I have realized is it was the anticipation and the thinking about how it could all be done that inspired and excited me. Now that its there I really don't care as much about it.

Wait for flying cars.

Flying cars have actually been around since the 1950's. The problem is they would be no fun once everyone had them. And of course they would be costly to maintain licenses and insurance.

The real cool new freedom toy (and Thats really what flying cars represent right?) Are the small flying surfboards and jetpacks that have come out lately that let you fly.
