I was just watching that video of the Aussie cop who was bemoaning his lack of job skills and his wife’s lost job. He’s a man caught between some serious forces; his need to provide, his loyalty to his fellow cops, his feelings as a citizen, etc. Yes, he’s supposed to quit and die to save his country. Sure. I’m sure we’re all so stoic and brave. But maybe it’s too much to ask of your average fence-sitting cop. “Conscientiously object and lose your life and start over like the bums you arrest.”
What can be offered to these people so that we don’t have to fight them later. Sorry gotta run, dinner is on.

All the patriotic decent cops left the department already. Maybe they should become local sheriffs instead

In dem cities, yeah. I agree with you. But It’s going to come down to the in-between areas not hit hard. Still good men on the force in some places.
