Every article and tutorial is VS code, Azure. But there's less articles about Visual Studio itself. It's becoming annoying, all i want to do is run WSL2 with Visual Studio, but it seems most of the tutorials are incomplete or just wrong at this point

Even SSMS is being replaced with Azure Data Studio. MS is just getting rid of everything they used to have and just replacing it with the crappiest dummy clients known to man

Back when I bothered with writing firmware, VS was the least objectionable by far. Quit that job and haven't touched firmware since. Analog shit is so much less frustrating.

Boy, I tried to like VSCode, but I am so used to Notepad++ and CSScript I just couldn't get into it. There are some things that really frustrated me about VSCode, like just trying to find ANY setting out of the 6 bazillion options. Also, the default dark mode is for darkies. I am a WHITEY and I like my screen WHITE!

Vscode is literally the best editor ever created by mankind whereas visual studio is slow bloated and unintuitive. Easy choice imo

Im sorry ... but i kind of took a liking to the buried options menu in the options tab to find out how to set my indent spacing to 5 instead of 4

Even enterprise dropped visual studio, but the real question here is why on earth anyone would want to use wsl2.

Because i was trying to test it out, and i thought it would be great to be able run unix without spooling a vm. This was clearly not the case though

Visual studio the last I used it was still the more superior dev environment over Linux / Mac tools. I had a Linux / windows project I was working on and simply I had better tools when developing it on windows instead of Linux.

I have no doubt Linux could do all the same things, but VS was superior in some ways of going about it.

I don’t think it matters now because win 2k / xp was the last windows I was willing to use.

Not sure what you mean by this. VS Code is available for linux, VS Codium as well. Is there some special developer shit that's on Windows that isn't on Linux?

Yeah some things are easier on Windows I'll admit. I manage huge environments of both OSs, but I use Manjaro for my personal machines.
