What's easier to influence - someone who doesn't need you or someone that is dependent on you for everything?

See, you are getting it.

Are you sure you understood what I said? The easiest people to control are the ones that are most dependent.

So, the way this works is the people at the bottom rungs are very incompetent. They can easily be replaced by autonomous machines. The "middle" sections cannot. There needs to be various states of involvement. Creativity isn't something often lent to "elites". They depend on the proles for ingenuity and innovation. The lower rungs, the serfs, cannot offer them that. The stooge doctors, the blackmailed politicians, directors, management class, etc. aren't so replaceable. The require this part of the sandwich. Without it, they completely falter. The internet, emerging fintech, "the dark web", many different modern advancements are examples that extend beyond the purview of the "elites" to various extents.

I've changed my mind. I'm back to thinking you don't get it.
