Someone with a more technical mind will probably give you an answer, but if I had to guess, your goverment be cracking down.

Ive been using firefox all the time. For the last week I was asked to update. I put it off till today. Did the update and firefox keeps crashing. Un-useable. Mid you this site is dead slow today. Maybe its just not me??

The Mozilla organization has been taken over by a bunch of purple-haired freaks who don't want people to use Firefox for anything they deem "hateful." My suggestion, completely uninstall Firefox, then get an older version and install it. Never update.
