I don't really like trusting my files to any 'cloud' system, --i guess the idea of "decentralized" cloud sounds better, but still.....it's other peoples' computers and therefore any idea of security or privacy is completely absurd. I run an internet connected computer at home using a secure linux distro, and with a software RAID setup. It was easy to find a used/refurbished server online to set it up, for just a couple hundred bucks. No need for special software, I just use ssh and sftp to store my files and I can retreive them from anywhere. For added redundancy I have a 4 Tb portable external hard drive that is small enough to carry in my pocket.
