Am I stupid to have been working this whole time? How much free money are people really getting there at the moment? Come to think of it I have no fricking idea how much free gimmies are being given in Australia as well. I mean I know broadly that some support is being given. But now how much and how long.

If you "lost" your job last year, you'd get full unemployment plus $2400/mo. I admit I was tempted to act like a nigger and " lose" my jobs so I could double my pay to stay home.

It’s like after Katrina I know a guy who owned a sonic he couldnt get anyone to work because not working paid better. You can’t blame the people they’re just doing what’s better for them. The government sets incentives and everyone else falls in accordingly. I kept my job because it pays pretty well and I like it. I pretty much get to show up and sit around half the time so why would I quit.

Depends. Yah, its dumb to work when others get the same money and a whole life to spend it in

BUT

Free money doesn't last forever and you have maintained contacts with the people who want your goods and services. You've shown you can he trusted to pay your bills and work. This won't be (conpletely) forgotten when there's too many people and not enough jobs.

Its kinda like the ant and the grasshopper. Gobs, the dole, the scratcher, pogey ... whatever you wanna call it, just allows summer to extend further than a season.

The larger than normal unemployment has recently mostly ended.

There was an eviction moratorium but that has also recently ended.

But yes for about a year a lot of people traveled and played around on unemployment while paying no rent.

I think its a scheme for banks to take control of all the properties as the owner goes bankrupt with no rents coming in.

Ive lasted up until now, my boss is now forcing the jab so i applied for centerlink

i got rejected. All of the covid money that is apparently bouncing around, im not eligible for any of it. You apply forthe lockdown payment they tell me my area isnt locked down.

So i dont know what kind of people get money but im about to finally fall completely thorugh the cracks now.

About $300 "stimulus" and an additional $600 every month along with "unemployment" no matter how much they got from that. Oh, and they can't be evicted for not paying rent.
