Masochism is big business. As is Hedonism. Put them together and you have this kike cocktail everyone is swigging on.

People get addicted to it and desperate for their next fix of punishment or dose of salvation through the news

As an anecdote, I knew a person who paid no attention to current events political or otherwise. I sent em links to a few important stories and they are now obsessed with the news and it's pure negativity nonstop everyday and they are just as uninformed as they were before but now they are angry

I couldn't go back in time and teach them critical thinking skills!

They just shill it up. Self-flagellation. Unquestioningly following conservative media now.

I was trying to convince them to draw their own conclusions and they fell lockstep into following conservative media

And they are just as miserable as they were before

Fuck

Mark Twain once said,

If you don't read the news you are uninformed, if you do read the news you are misinformed!

Mark Twain had a white kid use shenanigans to convince other white kids to whitewash a fence he should have been painting when he could have just ordered Nigger Jim to do it. It was 1840. If you see racism in that rather than the nature of man and the folly of childhood you've missed the point

You presented a very good point.

I never thought of race/racism until it was loudly thrown in my face. Now that racism has been introduced to me as a concept, I can't unsee it.

Think about it. They write stuff you'll get outraged about to get you to click. You click it, encouraging them to write more of the same. Rinse, repeat, ad infinitum.
